"NWA: Straight Outta Compton" Mobile App

Story: When it comes to productions for the silver screen, creators pour all their souls into the execution of a grand story. With the help of components like musical score and special effects, it is said story that strikes the hearts of viewers. as they walk out of theaters, reactions are aplenty: hands to their chests and teary-eyed or newly-formed laugh lines by their mouths, as they intermittently gasp and chatter away about the magic they just witnessed. But because of the nature of the beast, that is the movie industry, before this visceral connection can even take place, these stories must be backed with solid marketing in order to influence viewers to partake.In NWA: Straight Outta Compton's case, although their campaign appealed to old and new fans alike, their promo website and meme-generating mobile app fell short.

Problem: there is no place for the nwa fan to delve further into their story as well as engage in current content from existing members of the group.

Process: 

• user-persona creation

• paper-prototyping via pop app

• user interface revamp  

 

 

Solution:  A mobile app, accessible via any smart phone, that not only consists of generic promo info, but also takes a step further in giving fans insight into the history of the group as well as some interesting other features.
